Truly a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, this cooperative store outlet is owned by more than 200 Alaska native women living in villages throughout the state. Everything sold here is handmade of knitted quiviut, which is the soft underhair gathered from shedding musk oxen. Scarves, caps, sweaters and other clothing made from this material are quite unique, as each village contributes its own specialized knit patterns.
